ACCIDENT AT SWINTON - On Wednesday night, between seven and
eight o’clock at the Plant Engine-shed, Swinton, a youth about 16 years of age,
named William Shenton, son of John Shenton, engine-driver, of Mexbro’, was
injured whilst cleaning the tender wheels of an engine. One of the engine cleaners moved the engine
without giving warning to Shenton, whose hand consequently was caught in one of
the wheels and crushed badly.
